Phase-Change-Material-Impregnated Wood for Potential Energy-Saving Building Materials

چکیده

PCMs (phase change materials) are ideal for thermal management solutions in buildings. This is because they release and store energy during melting freezing. When this material freezes, it releases a lot of the form latent heat fusion or crystallization energy. Conversely, when melts, absorbs same amount from its surroundings as changes solid to liquid state. In study, Oriental spruce (Picea orientalis L.) sapwood was impregnated with three different commercial PCMs. The biological properties hygroscopic performance PCM-impregnated wood were studied. morphology characterized through use scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential calorimetry (DSC). demonstrated low terms storing releasing phase processes, confirmed by DSC. results show that possess excellent stability at working temperatures, most satisfying sample PCM1W, enthalpy 40.34 J/g temperature 21.49 °C. study revealed resistant wood-destroying fungi. After 96 h water absorption test, samples decreased 28%, tangential swelling 75%. addition, has been proven on laboratory scale PCM used highly attacks. However, large-scale pilot studies still needed.

Comparison of impact of climate change on building energy-saving design for two different climates; Metropolitans of Moscow and Tehran

In the present study, in order to monitor and project climate change impacts on model of the bioclimatic design, a comparative study was conducted between the Middle East and Eurasia as two different climates. This paper used the basic data from 1990 to 2010, and the CMIP5 climate models have been used to project the climate data (radiation, temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity) from ...

Energy Saving Techniques for Phase Change Memory (PCM)

In recent years, the energy consumption of computing systems has increased and a large fraction of this energy is consumed in main memory. Towards this, researchers have proposed use of non-volatile memory, such as phase change memory (PCM), which has low read latency and power; and nearly zero leakage power. However, the write latency and power of PCM are very high and this, along with limited...
